One Thing 7/26/17

Rev. 4 , After these things I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven, and the first voice which I had heard, like the sound of a trumpet speaking with me, said, “Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after these things.” 2 Immediately I was in the Spirit; and behold, a throne was standing in heaven, and One sitting on the throne.

The Lord’s invitation to John to “come up here” is a reminder to us that all prayer happens “up there” in the heavenly realm. There is an always open door to come up into the heavenlies to behold, and hear. It is as we seek those things that are above that we set our minds on things above, so that we can steward Christ as our life with our feet squarely on earth.

Col.1-4, “Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth. For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, is revealed, then you also will be revealed with Him in glory.”

Prayer happens up there; but life happens down here, and what we bring down off the mountain is what we will manifest in the valley. We always manifest what our minds are set on. In prayer we cultivate the heavenly mind of Christ, and the attitudes we display in the grind reflect the altitude we’ve cultivated in the glory. Altitude always determines attitude; not the other way around.
