One Thing 6/2012

‘For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes cherishes it, just as Christ also does the church.” Of course we believe that Jesus is committed to nourishing us. We know that He promised to meet all of our needs. We have all spiritual blessings in the heavenly places in Christ. He has given us everything that pertains to life and godliness. We have been made complete in Him. The truth is though, that our greatest need is to be loved, to feel loved. Do you live with the same certainty that He cherishes you. Do you live feeling cherished by God. That is the most important part of being complete. You will never feel complete until you are convinced that He cherishes you at all times. This word cherish is used only one other time in 1 Thessalonians 2:7 where it is used to describe how a nursing mother feels about her baby. The next verse uses the term fond and desirous affection to describe it. That’s how Jesus feels about you all the time, with an intensely desirous and fond affection. Why is it so easy to believe He will provide for you, but it is so hard to believe He cherishes you. Simply, the devil knows that if he can keep you from believing that, then you will never feel complete. Every human being longs to be special to someone they find significant. Well, the most significant person who has ever lived doesn’t just benevolently love you, He fiercely cherishes you at all times. Dare to believe it. Let yourself feel it. You are His beauty, awesome in His eyes.
