One Thing 4/27/16

NASB S.S. 1:4 “Draw me after you and let us run…

NIV S.S. 1:4 “Take me away with you. Let us hurry!”

How desperate are you for Him? How desperate are you for the fullness of Him? Is this your hearts cry; the great passion of your life in this moment in your history with God? Do you have a holy anguish to move beyond where you are in the love of Christ? Is deep calling unto deep; the depths of Him calling for the depths of you? Are you weary of wading in the shallows of His heart? Do you sense Him wanting more than the shallows of your heart? He so wants to be the melody of your heart at the deepest levels. He longs to be the delight of your life in the joys and sorrows of this fallen world, where this divine romance is staged. What a strange setting  for “First Love” to be cultivated in. Yet, only here, not in Heaven, can we love Him, delight in Him, through pain, loss, disappointment and confusion. It is here in the wilderness that we learn to “lean on our Beloved.” Only here, only now,  maybe in the midst of great personal pain and confusion, do you get to choose to respond to the pull of the mourning dove, by saying “Take me away with you. (Into the ocean depths of Love; of life in Christ) Let us hurry!”
