One Thing

Colossians 3

1IF THEN you have been raised with Christ [to a new life, thus sharing His resurrection from the dead], aim at and seek the [rich, eternal treasures] that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.
2And set your minds and keep them set on what is above (the higher things), not on the things that are on the earth.

3For [as far as this world is concerned] you have died, and your [new, real] life is hidden with Christ in God.

4When Christ, Who is our life, appears, then you also will appear with Him in [the splendor of His] glory.

As we have been learning, we can act in faith on those things that God says are true. Verse 4 says very simply that Christ is our life. That’s not something we have to hope for, or pray for. It is simply already true. When you became a Christian, Jesus came to live inside of you, to be your life. If that is true, and it is, then all that He is, and has, you have. You might ask, why then am I not experiencing Him as my life, living through me in all His unlimited ability. The answer is also simple. You aren’t walking in faith. You don’t have to get a word from God. You already have one. Just start believing its true. Start thanking Him that He is your life, and that He is living His life through you now. Don’t wait to experience it to believe it. Start believing it, and then you will start to experience it. Face every situation confessing that His ability is yours for that situation. It’s true, so receive it as substance, then you will begin to see it in your life. Every minute of everyday celebrate the fact that Christ’s life, in all its fullness, is flowing in and through you. What if you fall? Then confess, and repent, and get up and start walking in faith again that Christ is your life, invoking His ability for your every need. Have a great day celebrating by faith the truth that the One who conquered death is living in you as your very life. What will you face today that He isn’t big enough for?
