One Thing 1/7/13

Christians often, as they should, talk about witnessing to others. One of the primary ways to bear witness of the life of Christ in us is not through words, but through the lack of them.
Philippians 2:14-16
New American Standard Bible (NASB)
14 Do all things without grumbling or disputing; 15 so that you will [a]prove yourselves to be blameless and innocent, children of God above reproach in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you [b]appear as [c]lights in the world, 16 holding forth the word of life,

If we are going to be effective witnesses of the life of Christ in us; if we are going to be lights to the world, then we can’t live a life of constantly murmuring, grumbling, and complaining. I like the way the Amplified version says it.
Phil. 2:14 Do all things without grumbling and faultfinding and complaining and questioning and doubting.

All of these reflect a life of rebellion and unbelief. We murmur and complain because we don’t like the way God is doing things, and don’t trust Him with the outcome. Remember that He is in control, and He is ordering our steps, therefore when we complain we are saying either He isn’t doing it right, or that He is not able to cause all things, even if brought on by the enemy, to work together for our good. When we simply, in surrendered faith, take what He gives and give what He takes throughout each day, then we prove to be lights who are above reproach in this crooked and perverse generation. We don’t really need more methods on how to share the gospel, what we really need are more Christians living the Good News, walking in joy, surrender, and abandoned faith. When your walking in Good News, Good News will be your constant attitude and conversation. Good News coming out of a person attracts the lost, and needy who are desperate for a life joy and peace. SHINE ON!!!
