One Thing 10/30/15

2 Cor. 4:7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, so that the surpassing greatness of the power will be of God and not from ourselves; 8 we are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not despairing; 9 persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; 10 always carrying about in the body the dying of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body. 11 For we who live are constantly being delivered over to death for Jesus’ sake, so that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh. 12 So death works in us, but life in you.

God has called us to experience and express the fullness of the indwelling Christ. To bear the fruit of His character and power daily, in a lost and dying world is our a great privilege. Verse seven describes us as earthen vessels who carry in us the treasure of His glorious and limitless life. He places His limitless life in weak and fragile earthen vessels, so that He can clearly demonstrate His great power through such needy containers as you and me. Don’t despise your frailty, celebrate it. Don’t hate yourself for being weak, for it is only in our weakness that His strength is made perfect. Second Timothy 2:1 admonishes us to grow strong in grace, but the only way to grow STRONG in grace is to embrace our weakness, and neediness. Your weaknesses, frailties, and neediness don’t disqualify you from experiencing the power of God in your life; as a matter of fact your acknowledgment of your need is the very thing that positions you to know in your experience the surpassing greatness’s of His power being realized in, and expressed through you. Coming to realize how broken you truly are, and how weak and needy you are should not be a source of frustration, guilt, shame, and despair. Instead, it should be a source of great hope, that finally, now, you can enter into The supernatural life He lives, and is living inside of you right now, waiting to be released through you. Let your weaknesses be the stage from which His great, and overcoming life is played out.
