One Thing 1/4/18

“Breakthrough” is one of the most common terms used today to express a Christian’s desire to enter into more of God. I understand completely the idea of breakthrough, and fully agree that God wants us to experience everything that was purchased for us at the Cross. The key phrase there is “was purchased for us,” for in the finished work of Christ he has already broken through on our behalf, and because we are in him we already stand in the breakthrough. It is so important to understand this, so that experiencing breakthrough becomes so simple that even a child can experience it. As a matter of fact, Jesus said you have to become like a little child if you’re going to experience everything that’s ours already in the kingdom of God. You see, if you’re fighting for a breakthrough, then you’re fighting for something that you already have in Christ. The Holy Spirit wants us to embrace who we are in Christ, so that we can believe from that place of total breakthrough into all the grace of God. God loves a heart that is passionate to experience everything in the kingdom, and therefore he doesn’t get very hung up on the exact wording of our prayers, but the wording that we use can indicate that we believe we are trying to get something that we don’t have, which is much more difficult than simply rejoicing in all that we do have in Christ, which will result in the manifestation of the the breakthrough your longing to experience. Look at this verse from Romans chapter 5 and see if it speaks clearly that you are already standing in the breakthrough that Jesus accomplished.
Rom.5:1, ‘Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom also we have obtained our introduction by faith into this grace in which we stand; and we exult in hope of the glory of God’
it says there but as a result of our justification, which is our new birth in Christ, we are all standing in grace. The word “stand” there is a verb that is in the “perfect” tense. Perfect tense means something is been completed in the past with continual present tense results. In other words, I am standing in all the grace of God (all breakthroughs) already. The grace of victory over sin; I’m already standing in. The grace of servant love for others; I’m already standing in. The grace of healing anointing to be given away to others in ministry; I’m already standing in. We could go on and on about any anointing or any blessing you are longing for. Christ broke through, and being in him, he brought you with him into this place of breakthrough in which you already stand, therefore our part is to simply believe, expecting manifestation. Don’t wait for manifestation to believe, because manifestation is waiting for you to believe. The real breakthrough that we should be praying for is a breakthrough into a childlike faith which will simply take what he has already accomplished and provided.
