3/2/15 One Thing

Song 3:11 “Go forth, O daughters of Zion,
And gaze on King Solomon with the crown
With which his mother has crowned him
On the day of his wedding,
And on the day of his gladness of heart.”

I so love the last part of verse 11 because it reveals how much Jesus so loves us. The ultimate consummation of our relationship with Jesus will be at our Heavenly wedding. It will the greatest moment in human history, and the most glorious moment for the Bride of Christ.
Rev. 19:7 “Let us rejoice and be glad and give the glory to Him, for the marriage of the Lamb has come and His bride has made herself ready.”
There is a line in worship song that says, “There’s going to be a wedding; it’s the reason that I’m living, to marry the Lamb.” As Christians, we live everyday making ourselves ready for that day, but notice what the last line of S.S. 3:11 says about the heart of Jesus concerning that day. It says that it will be the “day of the gladness of His heart.” Just think of how much your Bridegroom Christ loves you and me. Of all the joy that Jesus has known throughout eternity, (and Ps.16 says He lives in fullness of joy) the day that He calls “His gladness of heart,” is the day of our Heavenly wedding. That’s amazing to me. What He longs for; what He so looks forward to is us becoming fully His Bride. His love woo’s us, wins us, ruins us. We love because He first loves us.
